Condensation particle counter UF-CPC

Condensation particle counter UF-CPC

Determination of the particle number concentration in aerosols up to 107 cm3 in the size range from 5 nm to 10 μm

Special advantages:

- The novel and patented supply of the working fluid allows the user to change from e.g. butanol to isopropanol or even water in a short time.
- Depending on the sensor used (replaceable by the user), the UF-CPC counts up to 1,000,000 P/cm3 in counting mode.
- Integrated computer with 7'' touch display
- Intuitive user interface with advanced data evaluation software
- Integrated data logger
- Unrestricted network capability supporting remote control and data storage on the Internet
- Integrated interface for process monitoring applications

The condensation particle counter UF-CPC measures the total particle concentration of ultrafine and nanoparticles in air or other carrier gases.

These particles are enlarged by a condensation process in order to determine the exact number of particles with optical light scattering detection. The working liquid, e.g. butanol or water, is evaporated as a condensing agent. The nanoparticles to be measured are passed through the vapour atmosphere, where the vapour condenses on the nanoparticles in a cooling zone. The condensation process is influenced both by the nanoparticles themselves and by the working fluid, working temperatures and volume flow.

In addition to the number, the UF-CPC also measures the size of the droplets and thus provides the user with additional information about the condensation process. The innovative and patented supply of the working liquid leads to a high degree of flexibility. The user is no longer limited to butanol or water, but can use both or another environmentally friendly or more suitable working fluid for a specific application.

The modular device design allows the user to replace the optical sensor to optimize the UF-CPC for different concentration ranges depending on the requirements. Single counts of droplets up to 1,000,000 particles per ccm are possible.
Due to the modularity, most maintenance work (e.g. cleaning, pump replacement) can be carried out by the user himself.
