The OPSIS system measures the gas concentration over the entire light beam using the DOAS technique (Differential Optical Absorption Spectroscopy). The evaluation is carried out according to Lambert-Beer's law. Each gas absorbs light in known spectral ranges of the total light spectrum in a characteristic way for the respective gas. The system is flexible, a reflector can be used instead of the emitter (no network required) or several light paths (path) can be measured with one measuring instrument.
