new RBG Brush aerosol generator for solids

The new RBG with the versions basic / profesinal / solo

RBG basic

Generation of test aerosols from powders, pollen and spores with manual pressure adjustment, mass flow approx. 0.04 - 800 g/h

RBG professional

Generation of test aerosols from powders, pollen and spores in operation up to 10 bar back pressure, mass flow approx. 0.04 - 800 g/h

RBG solo

Generation of test aerosols from powders, pollen and spores with built-in pump independent of compressed air supply, mass flow approx. 0.04 - 800 g/h

Low-concentration solid aerosols of powders are required for many applications in research, development and quality assurance as well as for the calibration of particle measuring instruments.

The RBG system has been used worldwide with great success for more than 25 years for the reliable dispersion of non-cohesive powders such as mineral dusts, medical agents, pollen, etc. in the size range < 200 µm and with a fines content < 100 nm. Monolithic solids, such as blackboard chalk, are finely dispersed with the highest dosing consistency.

The special advantage of this dosing and dispersing system is that with the RBG system, mass flows of approx. 40 mg/h to approx. 800 g/h can be dispersed with the highest dosing consistency by quickly and easily changing the solids container.

The RBG basic can be operated with nitrogen as carrier gas.
The RBG professional is pressure-resistant up to 10 bar counterpressure and can be operated with nitrogen as carrier gas.
The RBG solo has an integrated pump and can be operated independently of a compressed air supply.

Commissioning

The powder to be dispersed is gradually filled into the cylindrical solids container and compacted with a tamper. The Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts determined an excellent reproducibility of the tamping density in the solids container with a deviation of 3.4 %.

The filled solids container is inserted into the dispersing head of the RBG. The powder, which is uniformly compacted over the filling level, is then transported against a rotating brush with a precisely controlled feed. An adjustable volume flow passes over the densely woven precision brush at very high speed and tears the particles out of the brush.

Dosing

Dosing is carried out via the precisely controlled feed of the transport piston. The desired mass flow rates can be easily and reproducibly determined from the cross-section of the solids container, the precisely adjustable feed of the transport piston and with the easily determined tamping density of the powder in the container.

Dispersing

The powder quantity separated from the storage container by the precision brush is sprayed into almost all individual particles by the dispersing air at high speed in the dispersing head (see illustration). The dispersing air is controlled fully automatically via the built-in mass flow control on the RBG profesional and solo.

Pulse operation

Due to the design of the RBG system, "dust"/"no dust" pulse operation is possible up to the second cycle. The function can be used manually on the unit or via a connected computer.

Remote control
The RBG professional can optionally be controlled from a Windows computer or tablet using the software supplied.
