Compact air measuring system AQMesh™

AQMesh™ is a new concept in air quality measurement, which due to its small size and the low weight of approx. 2 kg is ideal for outdoor air measurements at almost any location. Specific gas sensors and an integrated battery allow a virtually maintenance-free operation of up to 2 years. The innovative electrochemical sensors, in combination with an integrated reference electrode, allow outdoor air measurements down to the lower ppb range. Produced by Environmental Instruments (England) and developed in cooperation with a world leading sensor manufacturer and the University of Cambridge, the AQMesh™ technology can be used for area-wide measurements in cities, for studies at polluted "hotspots", for fence measurements in industrial areas, for integration in traffic management systems or for extension and support of existing measurement networks. In addition to the gas sensors, an optical laser-based particle counter (OPC) with integrated pump for measuring the number of particles and calculating the PM1, PM2.5 and PM10 fractions in the size range from 0.3 - 30 µm has been optionally available for AQMesh™ since 2016.


  The sensors are integrated in a so-called "Pod" and are operated by means of the internal battery. The data is transmitted via a mobile network to a "cloud server", where it is processed and then passed on to the user via the Internet. Thus, AQMesh™ offers a modern, cost-effective air measurement system that can be installed almost anywhere without great effort.
